We have every confidence that individuals can change their behavior and will leave our Child Abuse Neglect and Endangerment Program with the tools and skills necessary to establish or sustain an abuse-free relationship. In the programs, participants will learn to:
- Defuse anger
- Abstain from violence and intimidation
- To establish and sustain loving child-parent relationships
- Accept personal responsibility
- Understand the cause and effects of child abuse and neglect
- Clear, healthy boundaries
- Learn better judgment skills
Child abuse comes in more forms than just hitting or physical abuse. Emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect are also forms of child abuse and can cause just as much lasting trauma to a child. Learn what you can do if your child is being severely mistreated. Kids need safe and secure homes where accidents and injuries are the exception not the rule.
Stronger boundaries mean safe, happy children, and happy parents. Learn how to prevent child abuse and maintain an environment essential to the well-being and happiness of children and families. Enhance Parenting Skills.
A nurturing environment is filled with loving action and loving words. We believe that the responsibility of putting these goals into practice starts with each one of us.
We will arrive at:
- Increased self-esteem
- More self-awareness
- Greater self-confidence
- Better understanding of family origin
- Better understanding of child abuse laws
Help For Parents
Our program offers clinical groups for parents who are abusers, or who feel they may become abusers. When all parties are involved in the process of change, there is an improved likelihood for success in breaking the cycle of child abuse. In addition to treatment groups for child abuse / neglect offenders, Shasta Treatment Associates offers specialized groups and individual counseling services to parents, children and other family members to break this cycle of abuse.
